Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 14838 — We said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: You

حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ: قُلْنَا لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّكَ تَبْعَثُنَا فَنَنْزِلُ بِقَوْمٍ فَلَا يَقْرُونَا فَمَاذَا تَرَى فِي ذَلِكَ؟ فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنْ نَزَلْتُمْ بِقَوْمٍ فَأَمَرُوا لَكُمْ بِمَا يَنْبَغِي لِلضَّيْفِ فَاقْبَلُوا، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا فَخُذُوا مِنْهُمْ بِحَقِّ الضَّيْفِ الَّذِي يَنْبَغِي لَهُمْ»
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): You send us out on expeditions, and we stop among a people, but they do not offer us hospitality. What is your view about this? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: "If you stop among a people and they provide for you what is due to a guest, then accept it; and if they do not do so, then take from them the right of the guest that is due from them."
