Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 14686 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say

Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The people should be led in prayer by their best reciter of the Book of Allah. If they are equal in recitation, then the one who emigrated first. If they are equal in emigration, then the one oldest in age. No man should lead another in prayer either within the area of his authority or in his house, and do not sit in his place of honour except with his permission."
