Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 14633 — A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: I

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: إنِّي أَتَأَخَّرُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ مِنْ أَجْلِ فُلَانٍ مِمَّا يُطِيلُ بِنَا، فَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَشَدَّ غَضَبًا فِي مَوْعِظَةٍ مِنْهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ، فَقَالَ: «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ مِنْكُمْ مُنَفِّرِينَ وَأَيُّكُمْ مَا صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فَلْيَتَجَوَّزْ؛ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الْكَبِيرَ وَالضَّعِيفَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I hold back from the prayer because of so-and-so, who leads us in long prayers. I never saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) angrier in any admonition than he was that day. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people, among you are some who drive people away. Whoever of you leads the people in prayer should keep it light, for among them are the old, the weak and the one with a need."
