Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 14629 — A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إنِّي أَتَأَخَّرُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ مِنْ أَجْلِ فُلَانٍ يُطِيلُ بِنَا، فَمَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطُّ أَشَدَّ غَضَبًا فِي مَوْعِظَةٍ مِنْهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ، فَقَالَ: «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ مِنْكُمْ مُنَفِّرِينَ، وَأَيُّكُمْ مَا صَلَّى لِلنَّاسِ فَلْيَتَجَوَّزْ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الضَّعِيفَ وَالْكَبِيرَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ»
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I hold back from the Fajr prayer because of so-and-so, who leads us in long prayers. I never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) angrier in any admonition than he was that day. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people, among you are some who drive people away. Whoever of you leads the people in prayer should keep it light, for among them are the weak, the old and the one with a need."
