Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 14562 — When the daughter of the Messenger
اُردوEn
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ، عَنْ عِصْمَةَ قَالَ: لَمَّا مَاتَتْ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الَّتِي تَحْتَ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «زَوِّجُوا عُثْمَانَ لَو كَانَ لِي ثَالِثَةً لَزَوَّجْتُهُ، وَمَا زَوَّجْتُهُ إِلَّا بِالْوَحْيِ مِنَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ»
Sayyiduna Ismah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) who was married to Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Marry Uthman off. If I had a third daughter, I would have married her to him as well, and I married him (to them) only by revelation from Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
