ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزْدَادَ التَّوَّزِيُّ، ثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الرَّقِّيِّ، ثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْفَزَارِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحُسَيْنِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ، شَيْخٍ مِنْ فَزَارَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: دَخَلَ عُيَيْنَةُ بْنُ بَدْرٍ وَحِصْنٌ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَهُمْ جُلُوسٌ جَمِيعًا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ فَدَعَا لِعُيَيْنَةَ بِنُمْرُقَةٍ فَأَجْلَسَهُ عَلَيْهَا وَقَالَ: «إِذَا أَتَاكُمْ كَرِيمُ قَوْمٍ فَأَكْرِمُوهُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: Uyaynah bin Badr and Hisn came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At that time Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) were with him (peace and blessings be upon him), and they were all sitting on the ground. He (peace and blessings be upon him) called for a cushion for Uyaynah and seated him on it, and said: "When the honourable person of a people comes to you, honour him."
