حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثَنَا أَبُو رَبِيعَةَ وَهُو ابْنُ عَوْفٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَاصِمٍ، امْرَأَةِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ قَالَتْ: كُنَّا ثَلَاثَ نِسْوَةٍ لِعُتْبَةَ فَكُنَّا نَتَطَيَّبُ فَكَانَ أَطْيَبَنَا رِيحًا، وَكَانَ لَا يَزِيدَ عَلَى أَنْ يَدْهُنَ رَأْسَهُ وَلِحْيَتَهُ، فَيَقُولُ لَه الْقَائِلُ: يَا ابْنَ فَرْقَدٍ، مَا أَطْيَبَ رِيحَكَ؟ فَقَالَتْ لَهُ: إِنَّا نَتَطَيَّبُ وَمَا تَزِيدُ عَلَى أَنْ تَدْهُنَ رَأْسَكَ وَلِحْيَتَكَ وَأَنْتَ أطْيَبُنَا رِيحًا فَبِمَ ذَلِك؟ فَقَالَ: " أَصَابَنِي شَرَاءٌ فَقَالَ: ادْنُهْ فَدَنَوْتُ فَأَخَذَ إِزَارِي بِسُفْلِهِ فَوَضَعَهُ عَلَى فَرْجِي، ثُمّ بَسَطَ يَدَيْهِ فَنَفَثَ فِيهِمَا فَمَسَحَ إِحْدَاهُمَا عَلَى الْأُخْرَى، وَمَسَحَ إِحْدَاهُمَا عَلَى بَطْنِي وَالْأُخْرَى عَلَى ظَهْرِي فَهَذِهِ الرِّيحُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ "
Umm Asim, the wife of Utbah bin Farqad, narrated: We were the three wives of Utbah. We would put on perfume, yet he was the most fragrant of us all, though he did nothing more than apply oil to his head and beard. Someone would say to him: O Ibn Farqad, how excellent your fragrance is! I said to him: We put on perfume, and you only apply oil to your head and beard, yet you are the most fragrant of us all; what is the reason for this? He said: "I was afflicted with a rash, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Come near. So I came near, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of my waist-wrap by its lower part and placed it over my private parts; then he spread out his two hands and spat into them, then rubbed one hand against the other, then passed one hand over my belly and the other over my back. So this fragrance is because of that."
