حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ، ثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثَنَا أَبِي ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ عَاصِمٍ، امْرَأَةُ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ قَالَتْ: كُنَّا عِنْدَ عُتْبَةَ نِسْوَةً نَتَطَيَّبُ ونَخْرُجُ وَهُو أطْيَبُنَا رِيحًا مَا يَزِيدُ عَلَى أَنْ يَدَّهِنَ فَقُلْنَا لَه: مَا هَذِه الرِّيحُ؟ قَالَ: أَخَذَنِي الشَّرَى عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِك إِلَيْه «فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَلْبَسَ عَلَيَّ ثَوْبِي - يَعْنِي يُغَطِّي فَرْجَهُ - ثُمَّ تَفَلَ فِي يَدِهِ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِهَا ظَهْرِي وَبَطْنِي»
Umm Asim (may Allah have mercy on her), who was the wife of Sayyiduna Utbah bin Farqad (may Allah be pleased with him), narrated: We, several wives, were with Utbah; we would put on perfume and go out, yet he was the most fragrant of us all, though he did nothing more than apply oil. We asked him: What is this fragrance? He said: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I was afflicted with a rash (a skin disease). I complained of it to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to wrap my garment around me, that is, to cover my private parts; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) spat into his hand and passed it over my back and my belly.
