ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " من غرائب مسند ثوبان رضي الله عنه يكنى أبا عبد الله ويقال: هو من اليمن، من حمير مولى آل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ويقال أصابه سبي فاشتراه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فأعتقه كان يسكن حمص، مات سنة أربع
Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), client of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (among the rare reports of the Musnad of Thawban); his kunyah was Abu Abdullah; it is said he was from Himyar in Yemen, a client of the family of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is said he was taken captive and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) bought him and freed him; he lived in Hims and died in the year 54

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ حَوْضِي مَا بَيْنَ عَدْنٍ، إِلَى عُمَانَ، أَكْوَابُهُ عَدَدُ النُّجُومِ، وَمَاؤُهُ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ الثَّلْجِ، وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ، أَوَّلُ مَنْ يَرِدُهُ فُقَرَاءُ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ» ، قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صِفْهُمْ لَنَا، قَالَ: «شُعْثُ الرُّءُوسِ، دَنَسُ الثِّيَابِ، الَّذِينَ لَا يَنْكِحُونَ الْمُتَمَنِّعَاتِ، وَلَا تُفْتَحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَابُ السُّدَدِ، الَّذِينَ يُعْطُونَ مَا عَلَيْهِمْ، وَلَا يُعْطُونَ مَا لَهُمْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, my Pool extends from Aden to Oman; its cups are as many as the stars, and its water is whiter than snow and sweeter than honey. The first to come to it will be the poor among the Muhajirun." We said: O Messenger of Allah, describe them to us. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those with dishevelled heads and soiled clothes, who cannot marry women accustomed to luxury, and for whom the doors (of the wealthy) are not opened; those who give what they owe, but are not given what is owed to them."
