ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " من غرائب مسند ثوبان رضي الله عنه يكنى أبا عبد الله ويقال: هو من اليمن، من حمير مولى آل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ويقال أصابه سبي فاشتراه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فأعتقه كان يسكن حمص، مات سنة أربع
Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), client of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (among the rare reports of the Musnad of Thawban); his kunyah was Abu Abdullah; it is said he was from Himyar in Yemen, a client of the family of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is said he was taken captive and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) bought him and freed him; he lived in Hims and died in the year 54
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1400 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ زِبْرِيقٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْحِمْصِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ ضَمْضَمَ بْنِ زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَعَدَنِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا، لَا يُحَاسَبُونَ مَعَ كُلِّ أَلْفِ، سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا»
Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed my Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, has promised me seventy thousand of my Ummah who will (enter Paradise) without reckoning, and with every thousand, seventy thousand more."
