حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ ذُكْرَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ، يَخْطُبُ، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يُحِلُّ الْمُتْعَةَ وَهِيَ حَرَامٌ مِنَ اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ»
I heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) delivering a sermon, and he said: "Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) declares mut'ah (temporary marriage) lawful, whereas it is forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)."
