حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ السِّرَاجُ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: «أَكَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا شِوَاءً وَنَحْنُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَلَمْ نَزِدْ أَنْ مَسَحْنَا بِالْحَصَا»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: One day we were in the mosque with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and ate roasted meat; then the prayer was called, and we did nothing more than wipe (our hands) with pebbles (and went to pray).
