حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبَّادٍ الْمَكِّيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، فِي قَوْلِ اللهِ {خُذِ الْعَفْوَ} [الأعراف: ١٩٩] ، قَالَ: «أَمَرَ اللهُ نَبِيَّهُ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ الْعَفْوَ مِنْ أَخْلَاقِ النَّاسِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty, "Take what is easy (and show forgiveness)" [Surah al-A'raf: 199], that he said: "Allah Almighty commanded His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to adopt the lenient and forgiving way in dealing with people's character."
