حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْخرَامِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: «وَدِدْتُ أن رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْطَانَا النِّدَاءَ» ، قُلْتُ: لِمَ ذَاكَ؟ قَالَ: «لِأنَّهُمْ أَطْوَلُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ أَعْنَاقًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I wish that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had granted us the honour of giving the call to prayer (adhan)." The narrator said: I asked: "Why is that?" He said: "Because they (the mu'adhdhins) will have the longest necks of the people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection."
