Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with them both) relates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) seated him behind himself (on his mount), then said: "O young man, shall I not give you something? Shall I not teach you words by which Allah will benefit you? Guard (the rights of) Allah, and He will guard you. Guard (the rights of) Allah, and you will find Him before you. When you ask, ask Allah alone; and when you seek help, seek help from Allah alone. Know that the Pen has dried with what is to be. And know that if all of creation wished to bring upon you something that has not been written for you, they would not be able to do so. And know that help comes with patience, relief comes with hardship, and surely with hardship comes ease."
