Sayyiduna Tha'labah bin Zahdam al-Hanzali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man from Banu Tha'labah bin Yarbu' came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon and saying: "The hand of the giver is the upper hand. (Spend on) your mother, your father, your sister and your brother, then whoever is nearest to you, and then the next nearest." At this a man from the Ansar stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, these are Banu Tha'labah bin Yarbu'; they harmed so-and-so in the days of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called out: "No soul bears (the crime of) another."
