It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the day of Badr the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out with three hundred and twenty-five fighting men, just as Talut (Saul) had gone out. When they set out, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for them: "O Allah, they are barefoot, so give them mounts; O Allah, they are unclothed, so clothe them; O Allah, they are hungry, so feed them to their fill." So Allah granted them the victory of Badr, and when they returned, every man among them came back with one or two camels, and they also had clothing and food.
