حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَلُولٍ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ، قَالَ: ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ: «مَا تَقُولُ عِنْدَ مَنَامِكَ؟» ، قَالَ: أَقُولُ: بِاسْمِكَ اللهُمَّ وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي، قَالَ: «غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكَ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a man of the Ansar: "What do you say when you go to sleep?" He said: I say: 'Bismika Allahumma wada'tu janbi faghfir li' (O Allah, in Your name I have laid down my side, so forgive me). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has forgiven you."
