Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 13644 — A man said: O Messenger of Allah

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَلُولٍ، قَالَ: ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ سَيْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ تَمُرُّ بِنَا جَنَازَةُ الْكَافِرِ فَتَقُومُ لَهَا؟، فَقَالَ: «نَعَمْ، قُومُوا لَهَا، فَإِنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ تَقُومُونَ لَهَا، إِنَّمَا تَقُومُونَ لِمَنْ مَعَهَا مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A man said: O Messenger of Allah, the funeral of a disbeliever passes by us; do you stand up for it? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, stand up for it; you are not standing for it, but rather for the angels who come with it."
