Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 13367 — when the Prophet ﷺ observed i'tikaf

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ، ثنا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُوسَى، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «كَانَ إِذَا اعْتَكَفَ طُرِحَ لَهُ فِرَاشُهُ وَسَرِيرُهُ إِلَى أُسْطُوَانِ التَّوْبَةِ مِمَّا يَلِي الْقِبْلَةَ ثُمَّ يَسْتَنِدُ إِلَيْهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) observed i'tikaf, his bedding and his couch (peace and blessings be upon him) would be laid out for him by the Pillar of Repentance, on the side facing the qiblah, and then he (peace and blessings be upon him) would lean against it.
