حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدٌ الْعِجْلُ، ثنا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «قَرَأَ النَّجْمَ بِمَكَّةَ فَسَجَدَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَرْفَعُ إِلَى جَبْهَتِهِ شَيْئًا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فَيَسْجُدُ عَلَيْهِ، وَحَتَّى يَسْجُدَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Surah al-Najm in Makkah, and the people prostrated with him (peace and blessings be upon him), so much so that a man would lift something from the ground to his forehead and prostrate on it, and so much so that a man prostrated on top of another man.
