وَعَنِ ابْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: كُنَّا نَتَحَدَّثُ بِحَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِنَا، وَلَا نَدْرِي مَا حَجَّةُ الْوَدَاعِ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطِيبًا فَحَمِدَ اللهَ، وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الْمَسِيحَ الدَّجَّالَ فَأَطْنَبَ فِي ذِكْرِهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «مَا بَعَثَ اللهُ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ إِلَّا وَقَدْ أَنْذَرَ أُمَّتَهُ الدَّجَّالَ، لَقَدْ أَنْذَرَهُ نُوحٌ وَالنَّبِيُّونَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ، وَإِنَّهُ يَخْرُجُ فِيكُمْ فَمَا خَفِيَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ شَأْنِهِ فَلَا يَخْفَى عَلَيْكُمْ أَنَّهُ أَعْوَرُ عَيْنِ الْيُمْنَى كَأَنَّهَا عِنَبَةٌ طَافِيَةٌ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: We used to talk about the Farewell Hajj while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was among us, and we did not know what the Farewell Hajj meant. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to deliver a sermon; he praised and extolled Allah, then mentioned the False Messiah, the Dajjal, and spoke about him at length. Then he said: "Allah did not send any prophet except that he warned his nation about the Dajjal. Nuh (peace be upon him) and the prophets after him warned of him, and he will certainly appear among you. Whatever of his matter remains hidden from you, it should not be hidden from you that he is blind in the right eye, as if his eye were a protruding grape."
