Yuhannas, the freed slave of al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates that he was sitting with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) during the days of the fitnah (turmoil), when a freed slave-woman of his came to greet him and said: "O Abu Abd al-Rahman! I want to leave (Madinah); times have become hard for us." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to her: "Stay, you foolish one! For I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'No one bears patiently its (Madinah's) hardship and difficulty except that it will be an intercessor or a witness for him on the Day of Resurrection.'"
