حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نَاجِيَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ مُوسَى الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا غِيَاثُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَشْعَبَ الطَّامِعِ بْنِ أَبِي حُمَيْدَةَ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَسْأَلُهُ، فَأَشْرَفَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ خَوْخَةٍ، فَقَالَ: وَيْلَكَ يَا أَشْعَبُ لَا تَسَلْ فَإِنَّ أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَيَجِيئَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَيْسَتْ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ مُزْعَةٌ مِنْ لَحْمٍ قَدْ أَخْلَقُوهَا»
Ash'ab said: I went to Salim bin Abdullah to ask him for something, and he looked down at me from a small window and said: "Woe to you, O Ash'ab! Do not ask, for my father narrated to me from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection some people will come with not a single piece of flesh on their faces; they will have worn it away (through constant begging)."
