حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ثنا جُنَادَةُ بْنُ سَلْمٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلَاءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» ، قَالَ سَالِمٌ: فَحَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِقَّيْ إِزَارِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِلَّا أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَصْنَعُ الْخُيَلَاءَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever drags his garment out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him with mercy on the Day of Resurrection." Salim said that his father told him that Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! One side of my lower garment slips down by itself, unless I take special care of it. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "You are not among those who do that out of arrogance."
