Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 13087 — The Prophet ﷺ ordered that the knife

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَمَرَ بِحَدِّ الشِّفَارِ، وَأَنْ يُوَارَى عَنِ الْبَهَائِمِ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that the knife be sharpened and that it be hidden from the sight of the animals (at the time of slaughter).
