حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو جَمْرَةَ نَصْرُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: كَتَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِلَى حَيٍّ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ فَلَمْ يَقْبَلُوا الْكِتَابَ وَرَجَعُوا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَخْبَرُوهُ , فَقَالَ: «أَمَا إِنِّي لَوْ بَعَثْتُ بِهِ إِلَى قَوْمٍ بِشَطِّ عُمَانَ مِنْ أَزْدِ شَنُوءَةَ، وَأَسْلَمَ لَقَبِلُوهُ» ثُمَّ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِلَى الْجُلَنْدَى يَدْعُوهُ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَبِلَهُ، وَأَسْلَمَ، وَبَعَثَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَدِيَّةٍ، فَقَدِمَتْ وَقَدْ قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَجَعَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْهَدِيَّةَ مَوْرِثًا فَقَسَمَهَا بَيْنَ فَاطِمَةَ، وَبَيْنَ النَّاسِ "
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) relates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote a letter to one of the Arab tribes inviting them to Islam, but they did not accept the letter, and (the messengers) returned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Listen, if I had sent it to the people of Azd Shanu'ah and Aslam who live on the coast of Oman, they would certainly have accepted it." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a messenger to al-Julanda inviting him to Islam, and he accepted it and became Muslim, and sent a gift to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). It arrived when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had already passed away, so Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) treated the gift as inheritance and divided it between Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) and the other people.
