Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12861 — he said: It is part of the Sunnah

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابَانَ الْجُنْدِيسَابُورِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْبَلْخِيُّ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ هَارُونَ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي نَهِيكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «مِنَ السُّنَّةِ إِذَا جَلَسَ الرَّجُلُ أَنْ يَخْلَعَ نَعْلَيْهِ فَيَضَعَهُمَا بِجَنْبِهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "It is part of the Sunnah that when a man sits down, he should take off his sandals and place them at his side."
