حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا حَرَمِيُّ بْنُ حَفْصٍ الْقَسْمَلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي غَالِبُ بْنُ حُجْرَةَ، حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ عَبْدِ اللهِ بِنْتُ مِلْقَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهَا، عَنْ أَبِيهِ التَّلِبِّ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَكَانَ يُطْعِمُ، ويَكِيلُ لِي مُدًّا، فَأَرْفَعُهُ، وَآكُلُ مَعَ النَّاسِ، حَتَّى كَانَ طَعَامًا، قَالَ: وَأَتَى التَّلِبُّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: أَطْعَمْتَنِي مُدًّا يَوْمَ كَذَا، وَكَذَا فَجَمَعْتُهُ إِلَى الْيَوْمِ، قَالَ: «فَاسْتَقْرَضَهُ مِنْهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَانَ لَهُ مِنْهُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَكِيلُ لَهُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ»
Al-Talibb (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he used to be with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) would feed people, and would measure out a mudd for me; I would put it aside and eat with the people, until it (accumulated and) became a meal. The narrator said: Then al-Talibb (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "You fed me a mudd on such-and-such a day, and I have saved it up until today." The narrator said: "So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took it from him as a loan, and what remained owed by him (peace and blessings be upon him) was the same as what he used to measure out for him before."
