Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12817 — A funeral passed by Ibn Abbas and Hasan

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَ: مَرَّتْ جِنَازَةٌ بِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، وَالْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ: فَقَامَ الْحَسَنُ، وَقَعَدَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، فَقَالَ الْحَسَنُ: " أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، لِجِنَازَةِ يَهُودِيٍّ أَوْ يَهُودِيَّةٍ مَرَّتْ بِهِ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسً: بَلَى، وَجَلَسَ "
Muhammad bin Sirin narrates: A funeral passed by Ibn Abbas and Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them). Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up while Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) remained seated. So Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Did not the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stand up for the funeral of a Jewish man or a Jewish woman that passed by him (peace and blessings be upon him)? Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Yes, indeed, it was so. Then he sat down.
