Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12797 — It reached me that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas

حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَ: نُبِّئْتُ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «احْتَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَآجَرَهُ، وَلَوْ عَلِمَ أَنَّ بِهِ بَأْسًا لَمْ يُعْطِهِ»
Muhammad bin Sirin narrated: It reached me that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had himself cupped and gave him his wage; had he (peace and blessings be upon him) known that there was any harm in it, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would not have given him the wage."
