حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَارِمٌ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطَبَ النَّاسَ بِعَرَفَةَ فَقَالَ: «مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), while delivering a sermon to the people at Arafah, said: "Whoever cannot find sandals, let him wear leather socks, and whoever cannot find a waist-wrap, let him wear trousers."
