حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، قَالَا: ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ حَمَّادِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «كَانَ يَفْتَتِحُ الصَّلَاةَ بِـ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to begin the prayer with 'Al-hamdu lillahi Rabbil-'alamin' (All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds).
