حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ طَرِيفٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: {فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ} [المدثر: ٨] قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «كَيْفَ أَنْعَمُ وَصَاحِبُ الْقَرْنِ قَدِ الْتَقَمَ الْقَرْنَ؟» وَحَنَا جَبْهَتَهُ «يَسْتَمِعُ مَتَى يُؤْمَرُ؟» , فَقَالَ أَصْحَابُهُ: فَكَيْفَ نَقُولُ؟ قَالَ: «قُولُوا حَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said concerning this statement of Allah Almighty: "Then when the Trumpet is blown" [Al-Muddaththir: 8]: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "How can I be at ease when the one with the Horn has already put the Horn to his mouth?" And he (peace and blessings be upon him) bowed his forehead (and said): "He is listening intently for when he will be commanded." The Companions said: Then what should we say? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say: Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs."
