Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1261 — I said: O Messenger of Allah, a man

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الرَّجُلُ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، يُسْلِمُ عَلَى يَدَيْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ؟ قَالَ: «هُوَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِمَحْيَاهُ، وَمَمَاتِهِ»
Sayyiduna Tamim al-Dari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, a man from the polytheists accepts Islam at the hands of a Muslim (what is the ruling)?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He (the Muslim) is the person with the greatest right over him, in his life and in his death."
