Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12568 — A Bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا ابْنُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ، ثنا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ: بِمَ أَعْرِفُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: «إِنْ دَعَوْتُ هَذَا الْعِذْقَ مِنْ هَذِهِ النَّخْلَةِ أَتَشْهَدُ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَجَاءَ الْعِذْقُ يَنْزِلُ مِنَ النَّخْلَةِ حَتَّى سَقَطَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَجَعَلَ يَنْقُرُ حَتَّى أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ: «ارْجِعْ» فَرَجَعَ حَتَّى عَادَ إِلَى مَكَانِهِ , فَقَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ , وَآمَنَ
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: A Bedouin came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "How shall I know that you are the Messenger of Allah?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I call this cluster from this date palm, will you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Yes." So the cluster began to come down from the date palm until it fell to the ground, then it came hopping along until it reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to it: "Go back." So it went back to its place. The man said: "I bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah," and he believed.
