حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدٌ الْعِجْلُ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مَاهَانَ، ثنا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ، ثنا لَيْثُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: أَتَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ , إِنَّ أُمِّي مَاتَتْ، وَلَمْ تَحُجَّ، أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهَا؟ قَالَ: «أَرَأَيْتِ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أُمُّكِ دَيْنٌ فَقَضَيْتِهِ أَوَفِي ذَلِكَ عَنْهَا؟» قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: «فَدَيْنُ اللهِ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُقْضَى»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: A woman from the tribe of Juhaynah came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, my mother died and she had not performed Hajj; shall I perform Hajj on her behalf? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tell me, if your mother had a debt and you paid it, would that suffice on her behalf?" She said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then the debt owed to Allah is more deserving of being paid."
