حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ الْمَكِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْبَسُوا مِنْ ثِيَابِكُمُ الْبَيَاضَ، فَإِنَّهَا خَيْرُ ثِيَابِكُمْ، وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ»
«وَإِنَّ خَيْرَ أَكْحَالِكُمُ الْإِثْمِدُ إِنَّهُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ، وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ»
«وَإِنَّ خَيْرَ أَكْحَالِكُمُ الْإِثْمِدُ إِنَّهُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ، وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wear white among your clothes, for they are the best of your clothes, and shroud your dead in them."
"And indeed, the best of your kohl is ithmid (antimony); it clears the eyesight and makes the hair grow."
