Said bin Jubayr from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12355 — the Prophet ﷺ had a ring made and wore
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ، عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا، فَلَبِسَهَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «شَغَلَنِي هَذَا عَنْكُمْ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمِ إِلَيْهِ نَظْرَةٌ، وَإِلَيْكُمْ نَظْرَةٌ، ثُمَّ رَمَى بِهِ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a ring made and wore it, then he said: "Since today this has kept me distracted from you: one glance goes to it and one glance to you." Then he threw it away.
