Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 11979 — the poor people came to the Prophet ﷺ
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقراطيسيُّ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْأَزْرَقُ، ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، قَالَا: ثنا عَتَّابُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، وَعِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، أَنَّ الْفُقَرَاءَ أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالُوا: إِنَّ الْأَغْنِيَاءَ يَصُومُونَ كَمَا نَصُومُ، وَيُصَلُّونَ كَمَا نُصَلِّي، وَلَهُمْ أَمْوَالٌ فيتصدقونَ مِنْهَا، وَيُعْتِقُونَ، قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمْ فَقُولُوا: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ، وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ أَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the poor people came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: The wealthy fast as we fast and pray as we pray, and they also have wealth from which they give charity and free slaves. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: "When you have finished praying, say: Subhan Allah thirty-three times, al-Hamdu lillah thirty-three times, and Allahu Akbar thirty-four times."
