حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ {إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللهِ وَالْفَتْحُ} [النصر: ١] حَتَّى خَتَمَ السُّورَةَ قَالَ: نُعِيَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفْسُهُ حِينَ نَزَلَتْ، قَالَ: فَأَخَذَ بِأَشَدِّ مَا كَانَ قَطُّ اجْتِهَادًا فِي أَمْرِ الْآخِرَةِ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ: «جَاءَ الْفَتْحُ وَنَصْرُ اللهِ، وَجَاءَ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ؟ قَالَ: «قَوْمٌ رُقَيْقَةٌ قُلُوبُهُمْ لَيِّنَةٌ قُلُوبُهُمْ، الْإِيمَانُ يَمَانٍ، وَالْفِقْهُ يَمَانٍ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that when (Surah al-Nasr) was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed of his approaching death. The narrator said: He (peace and blessings be upon him) began striving harder than ever before in the matter of the Hereafter. And after that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The victory and the help of Allah have come, and the people of Yemen have come." A man said: O Messenger of Allah! Who are the people of Yemen? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A people whose hearts are tender and gentle. Faith is Yemeni, and understanding of the religion (fiqh) is Yemeni."
