حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَسْرُوقِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ الْبَجَلِيُّ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: «كَانَ إِذَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوَحْيُ ثَقُلَ عَلَيْهِ، وَأَمْسَكَ النَّاسُ عَنْ كَلَامِهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when revelation came down upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), it weighed heavily upon him (peace and blessings be upon him), and the people would refrain from speaking to him (peace and blessings be upon him).
