حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، «أَنَّ زَوْجَ بَرِيرَةَ كَانَ عَبْدًا، وَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ كَانَ يَضْرِبُ بِرَأْسِهِ الْحِيطَانَ فِي طَلَبِهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the husband of Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her) was a slave, and I saw him striking his head against the walls (out of grief) in his longing for her.
