Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 11693 — The Messenger of Allah ﷺ bought
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اشْتَرَى عِيرًا قَدِمَتْ فِيهَا أَوَاقٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهَا عَلَى أَرَامِلِ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَقَالَ: «لَا أشْتُرِي شَيْئًا لَيْسَ عِنْدِي ثَمَنُهُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) bought a caravan that came with some uqiyahs of gold, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave it in charity to the widows of Banu Abd al-Muttalib, and said: "I do not buy anything whose price I do not have with me."
