حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ، ثنا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ وَرْدَانَ الْعَطَّارُ، ثنا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِيُّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَذَكَرَهُ بِمَا هُوَ أَهْلُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «مَنْ كَانَتِ الْآخِرَةُ هَمَّهُ، جَمَعَ اللهُ لَهُ شَمْلَهُ، وَجَعَلَ غِنَاهُ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ، وَأَتَتْهُ الدُّنْيَا وَهِيَ رَاغِمَةٌ، وَمَنْ كَانَتِ الدُّنْيَا هَمَّهُ، فَرَّقَ اللهُ شَمْلَهُ، وَجَعَلَ فَقْرَهُ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ، وَلَمْ يُؤْتِهِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَا كُتِبَ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us in the Masjid al-Khayf. He (peace and blessings be upon him) praised and glorified Allah as He deserves, then said: "Whoever makes the Hereafter his concern, Allah gathers all his affairs together for him, places his self-sufficiency before his eyes, and the world comes to him of its own accord even though it is unwilling. And whoever makes the world his concern, Allah scatters his affairs, places his poverty before his eyes, and he receives of the world only what has been written for him."
