Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 11610 — about this verse: And when We directed

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ الْحِمَّانِيُّ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ أَبِي عُمَرَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، {وَإِذْ صَرَفْنَا إِلَيْكَ نَفَرًا مِنَ الْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقُرْآنَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ} [الأحقاف: ٢٩] الْآيَةَ قَالَ: «كَانُوا تِسْعَةَ نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ نَصِيبِينَ» فَجَعَلَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رُسُلًا إِلَى قَوْمِهِمْ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said about this verse: "And when We directed to you a group of the jinn, listening to the Qur'an; and when they attended it" [Surah al-Ahqaf: 29], to the end of the verse: "They were nine individuals from the people of Nasibin." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent them as messengers to their people.
