Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 11547 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had not given

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had not given any definitive ruling regarding (the punishment for) wine. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: A man drank an intoxicant and was found (in a drunken state) in an open plain, so a man set off taking him to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When he passed in front of the house of Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), the (drunk) man broke loose and entered the house of Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), and he held on to him. This was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed and said: "Did he do that?" And he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not ask anything further about him.
