Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: On the day of Hunayn, the garment of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) got caught on a tree, while the people had gathered around him (peace and blessings be upon him) asking for spoils. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) thought that they had taken hold of his cloak, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let go of my cloak. Do you consider me a miser? By Allah, if Allah were to grant you livestock as numerous as the trees of Tihamah, I would distribute all of it among you, and then you would find me neither a miser, nor a coward, nor a liar." The people said: In fact, a thorny acacia had become entangled in his (peace and blessings be upon him) clothes, so they freed him from it.
