Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 11438 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: A gift
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَتْوَيْهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا يَمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِمْيَرٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ خَيْرِ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْهَدِيَّةُ إِلَى الْإِمَامِ غُلُولٌ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A gift given to the ruler is treachery (ghulul)."
