حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «لَيْسَ الْمُحَصَّبُ شَيْءٌ، إِنَّمَا هُوَ مَنْزِلٌ نَزَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Al-Muhassab is not anything prescribed by the Shari'ah; it was merely a halting place where the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped.
